HARSHAL BHIMSEN PAWAR

A dedicated and innovative Library and Information Science (LIS) professional with over 15 years of experience spearheading library operations and driving innovation in academic and research environments. Currently serving as Librarian (Associate Professor - AL 13A) at the Knowledge Resource Centre, Prof. Sambhajirao Kadam College, Deur (Dist. Satara, Maharashtra, India).

The academic foundation includes a Master's in Library & Information Science, an M.Phil. in LIS, and the current pursuit of a doctorate in the field from KBC North Maharashtra University, Jalgaon (Maharashtra). This scholarly commitment is complemented by robust practical experience gained at premier research institutions, including the Research & Development Establishment (Engineers), DRDO, and the Defence Institute of Advanced Technology (DIAT), Pune. 

As an active contributor to the LIS community, I maintain life memberships in esteemed national and state-level professional bodies such as the Indian Library Association (ILA), New Delhi, Academic Library Association (ALA), Thrissur (Kerala),  LIS Academy, Bengaluru, Maharashtra University and College Librarians Association (MUCLA), Shivaji University College Librarians Association (SUCLA), and Shivaji University Teacher's Association (SUTA). My dedication to advancing the field is demonstrated through consistent participation in seminars, workshops and conferences, alongside a strong publication record featuring contributions to national and international journals, conference proceedings, and edited book chapters. 

Committed to advancing library and information services through the strategic implementation of modern ICT tools to meet the evolving needs of users in a digital world. 

Key Projects & Leadership:

• Engineered a comprehensive Online Union Catalogue of College Libraries, dramatically improving cross-institutional resource discovery and access.

• Pioneered the development of a centralized Shivaji University College Librarian's Directory to streamline professional connectivity.
