3D Prints

I have owned and used a 3D Printer since May 2019. I have learnt a lot in capturing details and making parts with good tolerance and precision.

A good a number of designs were  specially designed keeping in mind the limitations of a 3D Printer.

Below are some of my best prints. I have designed all of them on AutoDesk Fuison 360.

Spring Testing machine

I designed a machine that can give force vs displacement graph for any spring.  The entire structure was 3D printed and the main actuator (stepper motor) and the main guiding equipment (linear bush bearings) were used as standard components

Spring winding machine

I designed a manually operated machine which can create springs with any diameters and lengths.  The entire structure except for the bearing and the guiding/mounting bolts was designed and 3D printed

Small wind tunnel

I made a small wind tunnel. The fan and the structures were made with 3D printing and the outer casing was made out of laser cut acrylic sheets.

Stroboscope

The outer casing of the stroboscope was made out of the 3D printing.

A presentation that I made for my class

I have tried my best to explain how a 3D printer is constructed and why certain types of motors and drives are chosen.

I have also tried to include some of my learnings over 2 years of 3D printing.
