Title: GIS DAY Celebration with a Community College
We at the Geographic Information Unit team, Center for Coastal Management celebrated the GIS Day 2022 by visiting a local community college. Our mission was to educate students about career paths in Geography and GIS, sharing our passion for these fields. The day was filled with engaging discussions, interactive activities, and plenty of fun. We even mapped the college campus together, giving the students hands-on experience with GIS technology. It was a fantastic opportunity to inspire the next generation of geographers and GIS professionals while enjoying a memorable and educational day.
In addition to my teaching responsibilities, I create detailed study area maps for various research projects. This involves using GIS software to accurately represent geographic locations, features, and boundaries relevant to the research objectives. These maps help visualize data, conduct spatial analysis, and support the overall research process, providing valuable insights and enhancing the clarity and impact of the research findings.
