Meet our Saxony ducks: Henrietta and Harriet (tan colored).
Saxony Ducks are the multitaskers of the duck world—great for eggs, meat, and looking fabulous. With buff-colored feathers and a friendly personality, our pair of hens and drake are productive without the all drama. Laying up to 200 eggs a year (per hen) and foraging like pros, they keep pests down while waddling around with quiet confidence. Unlike noisy ducks, they don’t cause honking scandals, and they’re very low-maintenance. Think of them as the reliable friend who’s good at everything but never brags. If you want a duck that’s stylish, useful, and slightly more responsible than the average barnyard goofball, Saxony Ducks are the way to go!
Duck Eggs, $5/dozen as available year-round.
Ducks available for $10 each.
Runner ducks have a history spanning over 2,000 years, originating in Indochina, India, and Indonesia, where they were herded into rice fields to forage. This lifestyle produced ducks that were excellent walkers, active foragers, and prolific egg layers.
We picked up a small flock of 1 drake and 4 hens this winter, for their unique, upright posture, and productivity. Runners are slim, energetic, and come in more color varieties than any other duck breed. They lay over 250 white eggs annually!
We have 4 blacks (one drake, 3 hens) and 2 tans (hens). If you are interested in purchasing for herding or eggs, reach out to us.
