Safety for our customers and their families is very important to us!
Insurance Requirements
We are required to:
Leak test the line to your home IF you run out of gas.
Leak testing must be done for all new customers and tenant changes or when there is an interruption of service. A responsible adult must be present at the time of the leak test.
Light all pilot lights for the customer. Under no circumstances should the customer be allowed to light the pilot lights. If no one is home, no gas will be left in the tank.
Two scenarios can cause you to run out of gas:
You didn’t order gas and ran out.
or
You have a gas leak.
If you suspect a gas leak:
Call a plumber to fix the leak IN THE HOUSE.
Call Hanson LP Gas if the gas leak is OUTSIDE THE HOUSE.
We WILL NOT supply gas until the leak is fixed and rechecked.
To AVOID running OUT OF GAS:
Check the percent of LP remaining in the tank on a REGULAR BASIS.
Call us at (866) 415-3340 when your tank is 30% to allow us to schedule a delivery.
ALL out-of-gas calls will be billed a service charge.
If you do not comply with these rules, we will not deliver residential gas.

How Many Gallons Do I Have Left in My Tank?
Your propane gas gauge is located under the dome at the top of the tank. Reading your propane gas gauge is not complicated. You’ll see bold black numbers encircling the gauge and a single pointer needle. The pointer will indicate a number that represents a percentage. Due to the physical properties of propane, your tank is considered full at 80% (allowing for the expansion of propane vapor). A propane tank is in IMMEDIATE NEED of refilling at 20%. For your safety and protection, it is best to fill your tank BEFORE the gauge goes below 20%.
