Hey there! I’m Hanna Mick, a school counselor, tech enthusiast, and 2025 National School Counselor of the Year finalist, and yes, of course, a dog lover! I help students thrive, keep counselors ahead of the curve, and make professional development something you look forward to attending.
I started my career in advertising but found my true passion in education. Now, as Dean of Elementary Counselors and Counselor Leader Coordinator for the Kansas State Department of Education, I geek out over engagement strategies, AI integration, and project-based learning. I’ve presented at ASCA, delivered sessions nationwide, and even built an AI chatbot (shoutout to Pickles the Chatbot!) to help students practice social skills.
Because school counseling and education in general should be innovative, engaging, and future-backed strategies collide to shake up the status quo.
When I’m not talking all things counseling, I’m playing fetch with my dogs, Piper and Pickles. They are the unofficial mascot of everything I do.
If you’re looking for someone to bring energy, tech know-how, and real-world strategies to your next conference or training, I’d love to connect.
CFO: Chief Fun Officer
(with a minor sock stealing problem)
Warning: May steal socks, your heart, and possibly your lunch. Pickles is part Goldendoodle, part snack enthusiast, and all love. She’s the mascot, the mood booster, and the reason your cat is hiding under the couch.
CTO: Chief Therapy Officer
Certified therapy dog. Tennis ball chaser. Cheese connoisseur. Piper brings heart, healing, and an endless supply of tail wags. She’s pure joy wrapped in fur and always ready to brighten your day.
