During my time at the LRI, I had the privilege of working under the direction of Joe Zein and Bo Hu on an asthma exacerbation study. The goal of this study was to classify asthma patients into two groups: whether or not they were at risk of developing asthma attacks (or exacerbations).
Using what I had learned about several different machine learning models and programming in R, this project ultimately culminated in a formal research report of my findings, which was submitted to the clinic upon the conclusion of my internship.

Apart from this main study, I also gained some familiarity navigating EPIC in assisting with a smaller project from Maeve MacMurdo (pulmonary medicine department).
