I took a holography class in the spring of 2019. In that class we learned the difference between real holograms and fake holograms and made three real holograms. In extremely simple terms, a real hologram is similar to a photograph. The difference is a photograph only displays the scene from the perspective of the camera, the hologram changes perspective based on the position of the viewer. Unfortunately, unlike a photograph, a hologram cannot be digitized or copied. Thus, in order to display my projects in this medium to the best of my ability, I have recorded a video to demonstrate how the hologram view changes based on the angle.
The project shown here is my second hologram. I based the piece on my interest in Disney. I used pins I collected over the years. The figurines were left over from another project. Next I had to figure out how to arrange the objects on the board. Once that was done, I had to stabilize everything using hot glue, as the smallest amount of movement can cause problems when capturing a hologram. After that we use a special device to capture the hologram and developed it. Finally, I chose a picture for the background..
