I am a passionate storyteller. My goal is to connect with people and make a difference in their lives. With nearly ample experience in the media industry, I have honed my skills in creating compelling content that resonates across various digital platforms, including websites, social media, and mobile apps.
Since October 2023, I have been the Digital Director for WATE in Knoxville. In this role, I have developed and implemented digital content strategies to increase audience engagement across multiple platforms. To make sure the team runs well as a part of the newsroom, I also act as a bridge between broadcast and digital.
To ensure audience growth, I evaluate website analytics and observe traffic trends, using this data to develop strategies to engage more viewers. I also work with our sales and marketing teams to ensure consistent messaging.
Managing and training a team of digital producers and reporters is also a crucial part of my role. I work closely with them to ensure that our digital content is of the highest quality and is delivered promptly. I attend daily news meetings, where I pitch stories and share trending topics to keep the team up-to-date and informed.
Overall, my goal is to ensure that our digital presence is strong, engaging, and effective in reaching our target audience.
Before stepping into the director role, I was a Digital Content Producer at WATE in Knoxville. I was responsible for creating engaging and compelling digital content that combines different elements like video, polls, social media posts, and photo galleries. Additionally, I managed the station's YouTube channel and worked with reporters to write and promote their stories on the website and social media platforms. Whenever necessary, I also stepped up and filled in for the Digital Manager, acting as her second in command.
Overall, my focus has been on providing high-quality digital content that resonates with our audience and keeps them engaged with our brand.
From February 2020 to April 2021, I worked as a news producer at WDHN in Dothan, AL. During my time there, I was responsible for launching an hour-long newscast and leading a team of reporters, anchors, and production staff to create high-quality news content. In addition to producing, I wrote articles for the website and assisted with creating content for social media when necessary. I enjoyed my role as a news producer and am proud of the work my team and I accomplished during my tenure.
During the summer of 2019, I worked as a media intern at the New Hope Baptist Church in Fayetteville, GA. In this role, I was responsible for creating social media graphics that were used on the church's Instagram page. Additionally, I took professional photos of events that took place at the church, which were used for both promotional and internal purposes. This was an exciting opportunity for me to apply my creativity and technical skills to produce high-quality videos that helped to promote the church's message to a wider audience. Overall, my time as a media intern at New Hope Baptist Church was an invaluable experience that allowed me to grow both personally and professionally.
During the summer of 2018, I worked as an intern for Stephen May and the Screen Arts Institute in London, UK. During my time there, I redesigned their website to have a modern look and be easily navigated. This was a great opportunity for me to learn more about the media industry. Additionally, I assisted Stephen May by managing his professional schedule, helping him with time management and ensuring he was able to meet all of his commitments. Overall, this internship provided me with valuable experience and skills that I will use throughout the rest of my career.
