Hannah has assisted with food drives during the pandemic. Her local Kiwanis club partnered with the Wright Patt Air Force base near her community. Members of the army helped the organization load cars full of food to help families who were impacted whether through unemployment or lower income households. Hannah also assisted with the special needs Olympics this year where she helped the students play softball and compete against other schools. In her school's interact club, they made cards for seniors in nursing homes with encouraging messages. In addition, Hannah did park cleanups, peer tutoring, and worked alongside her local Lions Club and Interact Club.
Organized a mental health awareness week with peers. Wrote various pieces for a city-wide platform called Positiv.ly where she shared her real-life stories with fighting against mental health stigmas. Some of the topics included anxiety, perfectionism, and fear and failure. Also, Hannah is QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer) certified, a suicide prevention training program to allow students to identify when others show possible warning signs.
Hannah participated and advocated for more diversity within staff and administration in her school district. She grew up without any representation in her administration. Because of this, she listened as well as collaborated with other students to be as effective as possible. This was an important issue for her and the students including herself went on to hold a focus group panel where they shared their stories of injustices from staff and people throughout their schooling.
For 8 years, Hannah sang with the Kettering Childrens' Choir. In the choir she sang in various different languages and learned to sight read music. She got to travel to several places including last October, the group sang at the NBA Cleveland Cavs game.
Hannah is currently in the Inroads Program at Fisk where she receives mentorship and career building skills. The program allows students to do mock interviews and be ready when they enter corporate America.
