I was in charge of the interactive elements in "Aracana's Keep" - an area of the ball centered around magic and wizards. While the display was low-budget, I was still able to create some interactive elements along with a phone filter to match the night!
The crystals on the table light up based on distance sensors hidden in the cloth, drawing guests near the table and encouraging movement.
I was specifically responsible for the electronic elements. The plastic outside covering the LEDs was the work of my teammates!
While I was aware Meta Spark would be cut not long after this, I still wanted to put my skills to use and publish one filter before it's end.
This Ball was the perfect opportunity. The filter would encourage photos from the event while adding yet another interactive element. The masks were modified from stock photos by another club member, and I ensured they'd work on all faces for the filter.
The filter itself lets users choose a mask by tapping on the screen, while also showing the name of the Masquerade Ball above. The mask tapping interaction was done in Javascript.
