Hi, my name is Hannah. I am 20 years old and soon to be qualified teacher. Previous employers and friends would consider me an approachable, bubbly and friendly person. I thoroughly want to dedicate my spare time to tutoring and helping educate children who need a hand in reaching their goals.
My Experience:
- Through a University placement, I previously taught in Year 1 for two months. During this period of time I thoroughly built on my phonics knowledge which has now given me the confidence to privately tutor phonics across all year groups at primary level. In addition to this, I assisted teaching in Years 4 & 5 on multiple occasions which helped to increase my confidence in teaching KS2.
- Through the words of previous parents who's children I have taught, I have had a presence which is positive and encouraging to their children. I have worked closely with multiple children who have additional needs such as Autism, ADHD and ADD. I personally feel as though I have gained experience of different behaviour patterns and teaching strategies however, no child is the same!
- I work with a supply agency called Randstad in many different schools and nurseries around Liverpool. As I have a few months left until my QTS status, I have had to work as a Supply Teaching Assistant. However, I have gained so much experience from this with different children and different types of schools.

St Cuthbert's Catholic Primary School - Year 1 Student Teacher
St Cuthbert's was my first in-person placement due to COVID 19. Initially I was nervous and questioning whether I had even chosen the right profession due to my lack of confidence. The school welcomed me in with open arms and I really got stuck into school life. I made great professional relationships with all other Teachers and TA's in the school and felt like I was part of their workforce. I included myself in Arts & Crafts club which allowed me to help in KS2 after school hours. My teaching percentage this placement was 40% which allowed me to greatly improve my phonics knowledge and how to teach the early stages of maths. I had the opportunity to work with Year 5 on multiple days, where I gained respect from the class and additionally improved my KS2 subject knowledge. Coming to the end of the 8 weeks at the school, I was devasted to leave which then led to me applying to work for Randstad.
Randstad - Teaching Assistant
I applied to work with Randstad to remain in the school setting whilst I am in my final year at University. Randstad is a supply agency whom schools will contact with last minute absences where I can step in and work in place of them that day. I find it so rewarding to build positive relationships with the students even if it is only for one day. With new faces in the classroom I make myself as welcoming and approachable as possible so the students can continue to focus and make the best of their education.
• Served as a helpful assistant to the class teacher.
• Brought forth a commitment to reliability and punctuality.
Stockbridge Village Primary School - Year 4 Student Teacher
During my time so far at Stockbridge Village Primary, I have had the opportunity to enhance my responsibility of a whole class and plan for a full half term of learning. During this placement I teacher 80% of the week with the other 20% allowing me to have time to plan and organise the weeks. This has given me the skills of planning and leadership for a class of 31 children. I have made proficient use of other adults in the classroom to ensure each child has access to the full school curriculum and further chances of learning.
