At the high school level, I have utilized Google Sites as a means of instructional delivery. The lesson is presented and discussed in real time, but the site serves as a later point of reference for students.

Checking for understanding in art can talk place in different ways. Part of learning about art is understanding how to talk about an artwork using vocabulary, such as the elements of art.

This lesson emphasized a "discovery-led learning" process where students were given a limited set of materials and some structure. The most specific set of instructions given in this lesson, were to draw to the music, responding as the music changed. The class was structured by stations and time intervals. Students would exclaim, "I made purple! I mixed red and blue to get purple!"
This lesson was high energy, fast-paced, and highly successful for any age within the elementary level.
