From February to June, I served as the maternity leave substitute teacher for Blessed Sacrament's 1st grade class.
My responsibilities included but were not limited to: lesson and curriculum planning based on state and national standards, classroom management/organization, and staff meetings. During my time at the school, they were able to find someone to take over 1st grade permanently in the Fall, so we collaborated to transition smoothly from one teacher to another.
While this job was not in my field at the time, it was a welcome experience.
I taught lessons at this studio during my time at The University of Akron. I taught any and all string/wind instrument private lessons. Included in this list are violin, cello, piano, tenor and alto saxophone, trombone, and flute. Piano lessons were my most frequently taught lessons.
This experience lasted for two and a half years.
