Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Hanging Calendar application (the “App”), developed and provided by Ahmed Moustafa, an independent individual developer based in Germany (“Developer”, “we”, “us”, or “our”).

By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

1. Description of the Service

Hanging Calendar is a macOS calendar application that allows users to connect their Google account to read, display, modify, and synchronize calendar events with Google Calendar. The App stores synchronized calendar data only locally on the user’s device.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the App. By using the App, you represent and warrant that you meet this requirement and that you have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.

3. User Accounts and Google Sign-In

To use the synchronization features of the App, you must sign in with a valid Google account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your Google account credentials. We do not store your Google password.

You are solely responsible for all activity that occurs through your Google account in connection with the App.

4. Use of the App

You agree to use the App only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to:

Use the App in violation of any applicable laws or regulations
Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the App
Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the App except where permitted by law
Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the App
Use the App to transmit malicious code or harmful content

5. Data and Privacy

Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy. The Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and store your personal data and calendar data. By using the App, you consent to the data practices described in the Privacy Policy.

6. Local Data Storage

The App stores your synchronized calendar data and app settings only on your local device. You acknowledge that deletion of the App or signing out of your Google account will result in the deletion of this local data. We are not responsible for any loss of data resulting from device failure, operating system issues, or user actions.

7. Third-Party Services (Google)

The App relies on Google services for authentication and calendar synchronization. Your use of Google services is subject to Google’s own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or reliability of Google’s services.

8. Intellectual Property

All rights, title, and interest in and to the App, including but not limited to software, design, and branding, are owned by the Developer. These Terms do not grant you any ownership rights in the App.

You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes, subject to these Terms.

9. Availability and Modifications

We reserve the right to modify, update, suspend, or discontinue the App or any part of it at any time, with or without notice. We are not liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the App.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided on an “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE” basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Developer shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or business interruption, arising out of or related to your use of or inability to use the App.

In no event shall the Developer’s total liability exceed the amount paid by you for the App, if any.

12. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access to the App at any time if you violate these Terms or use the App in an unlawful manner. Upon termination, your right to use the App will immediately cease.

13. Updates

From time to time, we may release updates to improve performance, security, or functionality. You agree that such updates may be automatically installed as part of the App’s normal operation.

14. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany, without regard to its conflict of law principles. The place of jurisdiction shall be Germany, to the extent permitted by law.

15. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

16. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Any changes will be reflected by updating the “Effective Date” at the top of this document. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
