Scout Release Soon, Upgrades on Deck, and What’s Next for Hangar Studios 713
Hey flight sim fans and Hangar Studios 713 supporters —
We’ve got a lot on the horizon as we move into the MSFS 2024 era. The next few weeks are going to be big, with the American Champion Scout (8GCBC) almost ready for release, and major updates planned across the rest of the Hangar Studios 713 lineup.
I’m a one-man team, but I’ve always aimed to deliver aircraft that feel alive — from flight modeling to detail-rich cockpits. With MSFS 2024 introducing career mode, missions, and more interactive systems, the opportunities are huge. I’ll be updating my aircraft lineup over time to take full advantage of what’s possible in this next-gen sim.
Once the Scout is out, my focus shifts to making all previously released aircraft fully MSFS 2024 compatible. This was something I already planned — and with the new sim’s deeper mission and EFB (Electronic Flight Bag) integration, it’s more exciting than ever. These upgrades will take some time, but each aircraft will be refreshed and re-tuned for the new environment.
The first plane to get the 2024 upgrade is the Super Decathlon — one of my most popular aircraft. The update will include:
Full MSFS 2024 compatibility
A brand-new banner towing variant (pending final SDK support)
Mission-ready features designed to match the new sim’s capabilities
Next up, the L-17B and L-17D will get updates that lean into their post-WWII roles:
New canopy animations
Let's see where the missions system can take us!
MSFS 2024 optimizations
The Navion B is getting a cleaner, more intuitive walk-around experience using the new 2024 EFB, along with general polish and enhancements. While not as mission-heavy, it remains a great long-haul touring aircraft with 260 HP under the hood.
The Camair 480 Twin Navion will receive a full overhaul:
Reworked textures and model improvements
Deeper system detail and performance tuning
Updated for MSFS 2024’s new mission and performance frameworks
The American Champion Scout is just weeks away. It’s a bold, capable STOL performer with:
Three variants: bush wheels, glass cockpit, and floats
Realistic flaps, larger wings, and cargo space
Full support for amphibious operations using 2024’s new water physics
It’s been a long journey, but this will be one of the most complete, high-fidelity aircraft I’ve created to date.
Let’s be honest — the stealth birds probably won’t get finished this year. They’re still in the vault for now, and I’d rather focus on delivering full 2024 upgrades to the aircraft that are already in your hangars. That said, I haven’t forgotten them — and they may return when the time is right.
I appreciate every bit of feedback and support I get from this community. Your passion is what makes all this worthwhile. MSFS 2024 is a massive leap forward, and I’m excited to bring everything you love about Hangar Studios 713 aircraft into this new chapter.
Stay tuned — and get ready to fly.
