Javeia Johnson-McCoy is a visionary educator, health care practitioner, and radical advocate for equity whose work is rooted in service, inquiry, and transformative care. Pronounced JAY-VEE-UH, Javeia describes herself as a beacon of light working across space, time, and disciplines to gather knowledge, generate value, and build pathways toward healing and liberation. Her professional path reflects both precision and compassion, shaped by a lifelong dedication to allyship, community care, and meaningful social change.
Javeia holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, is Mental Health First Aid Certified, is a Level III Reiki Master, Certified Bio-Medical Data Scientist and a graduate student in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. As a licensed health care practitioner, she integrates holistic awareness with practical support, bringing both grounded presence and intuitive leadership to her work. Her practice reflects a commitment to wellness in all its dimensions, including emotional, physical, academic, and spiritual well-being.
With more than 20 years of professional experience, Javeia has served in a wide range of educational and leadership roles, including Director of STEM Education, academic advisor, recruiter, science and mathematics subject matter expert, educator for multiple museums, and curriculum developer. She has designed formal and informal learning experiences for thousands of K-12 students and has written grants totaling more than $250,000, demonstrating a strong record of impact, innovation, and resource development.
Her work also extends beyond education into advocacy and community mobilization. Javeia has connected families and students to critical resources such as education, housing, and food, while also raising awareness and taking action around Autism, Multiple Sclerosis, neurodiversity, and equity in marginalized communities. Whether through teaching, research, advocacy, or healing work, she remains steadfast in her commitment to uplifting those who have historically been overlooked.
