I'm passionate about developing hands-on learning experiences to support vision science education in undergraduate classrooms and informal learning for all ages. Practical Vision Science is my attempt to articulate how to teach vision science by centering observation, analog demos that don't require screens, and emphasizing connections between the learner's experience of seeing and mechanisms of visual processing.
The book includes all of my favorite Hands-On Vision Science Demos along with discussion of what each phenomenon reveals about various stages of visual processing. For instructors looking to keep textbook costs down it's also an affordable textbook that is readable, engaging, and I hope a lot of fun.
