God fearing, loving, caring, strong, selfless, and an advocate for others; these are some of the words that describe Patricia Jones Morris.
Mrs. Morris started her higher education at Mary College in Bismarck, North Dakota earning her bachelor’s degree. Having a passion for school and helping others, she then pursued and attained her Master’s degree from the Tulane University School of Social Work in New Orleans, Louisiana.
Patricia Jones Morris has set an example of leadership, endurance, and prosperity with over thirty years of service in the fields of Social Work and Mental Health. Mrs. Morris has served as a member of the National Board of Addiction Examiners, the Executive Committee of Envisioned Prince Georges, the Academy of Certified Social Workers, the National Association of Social Workers, and the Stoney Hoyer’s Women’s Network Advisory Committee. Mrs. Morris has also help shape organizations by serving on the Board of Directors of Goodwill Industries; by being the former Chair Woman for Men Aiming Higher (an organization for mentoring young men into manhood); by serving as past Vice President of the Coalition of 100 Black Women of Prince Georges County, and by formally being the Director of Family Services in Prince Georges County.
Patricia Jones Morris has continually been a staple of influence in our society. Mrs. Morris is currently a member of Who’s Who of Professionals, a Consultant in Mental Health, and is a professional therapist working with families, couples, individuals, and women of domestic violence. She is also presently serving as Field Coordinator for area universities for Bachelor’s and Master’s level social work students. Mrs. Morris is also the Behavioral Specialist at Somerset Prep DC Public Charter School, where she works along the side of her husband Steven Morris. Patricia Jones Morris is the Mother of two sons and the Grandmother of three beautiful grandchildren. Although, Mrs. Patricia Jones Morris has been a public servant that has dedicated her life to helping others, she still finds time for family.
