1. Post-Doctoral Researcher—Health Insurance, Capital Markets, Macro-prudential (Nov 2019-Present, NAIC)

  • Conduct health insurance related analyses and researches, i.e. wellness programs, health care cost drivers, market participation, underwriting profitability, etc.

  • Fulfill research and analysis needs for NAIC Capital Market Bureau’s insurance industry infrastructure investment project, including fixed income credit performance analyses, equity key performance measures analyses, keep abreast of industry-related news flow, etc.

  • Conduct quantitative analyses on insurance industry macro-prudential, including collects and analyses data on macroeconomic conditions, etc.

  • Other studies include the application of health care cost actuary model, health insurance knowledge survey analysis, Model Law adoption analysis, Business Interruption-related analysis, etc.

  • Fulfilled all research support duties for a Professor at Harvard Business School for two projects over the summer of 2019

  • One project evaluates the impact of the JOBS Act on the hedge fund industry; the other project investigates the non-profit organizations' revenue effect from the churn of the person in charge

3. Private Equity Intern (Apr 2019--May 2019, Ocean Trail Partners, Boston MA)

  • Conduct extensive research and due diligence on potential acquisitions within the lower middle market

  • Produce reports/PowerPoint slide decks on compelling potential investments supported by quantitative and qualitative data to help identify strong investment opportunities

  • Set up and maintain an Excel database for determining attractive investment opportunities

4. Program Assistant—SAS (Jan 2012--May 2012, D’Amore-McKim School of Business, Northeastern University, Boston, MA)

  • Fulfilled all program assistant duties in a team of five members led by a faculty of School of Business to support a U.S. nationwide hospital study

  • Cleaned and manipulated raw data (e.g. Fuzz lookups in Excel, process missing values, create pivot tables, etc.) of total 20 GB

  • Furnished data insights, proposed and applied analytical approaches (e.g. ANOVA analysis, F-test, etc.) to address challenging issues arising in the project, the schedule is one and half month ahead of the original plan
