A little bit about me

I was born in Prague, Czech Republic, and grew up in a little village close by. When I was 13 my family and I moved to Belgrade, Serbia. My knowledge of English comes from there. Four years later we all moved to Berlin, Germany, where I started my undergrad in mathematics.

I finished both my bachelor and master studies at the Technical University Berlin. During my master I also spent a year in Valencia, Spain, thanks to the ERASMUS program.

After finishing my master studies in mathematics I started a PhD at the research group Discretization in Geometry and Dynamics, still at the TU Berlin. During my PhD I was lucky enough to become a member of the Berlin Mathematical School, and enjoyed its wonderful support throughout my PhD.

I finished my PhD in March 2020, and moved to Austria two months later. I now work at the Institute of Science and Technology Austria, which is located close to Austria's capital, Vienna. In summer 2024 I will be moving back to Germany, this time to Uni Potsdam.

Besides mathematics

I am an enthusiastic volleyball and beach volleyball player. I play as a setter in both female and mixed teams.

In the remaining time I hike. In Berlin I was in the executive board of the hiking club Uni Wanderclub Berlin, where I organised and guided numerous hiking trips.

Thanks to my musical family I grew up surrounded by music. Throughout the years I learnt to play several musical instruments, only to forget how to do so after a while.

In the last years I have been taking singing lessons and performed in a concert or two.

I also like arts and crafts. I actually considered studying art but decided to study maths after consulting both my arts and maths teachers.

Be as it may, I try very hard to bring as much art(siness) into mathematics as possible, mainly when it comes to the dissemination of my research.
