The Hamptons Community Foundation (HCF) stemmed from the work of a group of residents at the Hamptons Community in North Natomas in 2018. Finding that there was little, if any, activities in the neighborhood, the group started its community-building efforts by organizing various events to create spaces for neighbors to learn more about each other. The events eventually grew larger and larger and the group realized that it needed to transform itself into a more formal organization in order to sustain its activities.
The HCF was formed in 2021 and is a registered 501 (c) (3) tax-exempt organization. Its work has grown exponentially and has expanded its mission to the greater Sacramento region and it has also reimagined its mission to:
Empowering, transforming and improving the lives of people in our diverse communities. We are focused on enabling community resiliency and advocating for diversity and inclusion of all abilities. We support education for youth in underserved communities, healthy lifestyles, and environmental sustainability for more livable communities for all ages. We thrive to bringing about these real and lasting improvements.
