In honor of Pride Month, HUGA would like to highlight prominent Black LGBTQ+ figures within history. Every week we will highlight two Black LGBTQ+ icons that made an impact within their community. Tune in on Instagram @generationaction_hu to see who we will highlight next.

In honor of Black History Month, HUGA would like to continue a fan favorite event "Shades of Black." Within this event series we will look into and discuss various topics that impact the Black Diaspora. There will be a new episode every week on Wednesday @6pm EST until the end of the school year. In honor of National Period Day, on October 10, 2020, HUGA started our first ever menstrual education week. We used this week to educate on menstrual justice, menstrual disparities, menstrual hygiene, endometriosis, PMS and the benefits of using organic menstrual products.

HUGA had the privilege of hosting a menstrual education event with The Honey Pot Company Founder and CEO, Ms. Beatrice Dixon. Within the event we discussed the importance of menstrual justice and menstrual equity as it pertains to the Black Community, and how to advocate on behalf of these communities.

The American Society for Emergency Contraception (ASEC) hosted their annual “EC Jamboree” highlight student activism with regards to EC distribution on college campuses. For the second year in a row Hampton U represented at this conference as the first and only HBCU campus during the peer-to-peer EC model session.
Our President, Amber Wynne, has been working with ASEC for the past year on “The #EC4EC Project” advocating and educating on behalf of the HBCU EC distribution experience.

It's relaunch day!!!! Today HUGA relaunched our Emergency Repro Hotline. At our event we announced the new services that we added to the hotline, including The Period Project, as well as the additions of dental dams and pregnancy tests.

This school year we celebrated our first ever Pride Week, with our amazing LGBTQ+ advocacy organization on campus, Mosaic. The week was filled with education events, video challenges, a Black Queer-Owned business bazaar and a day in remembrance for all the Transgender lives that have been taken from us. We look forward to celebrating Pride throughout the year!

During the onset of COVID-19, HUGA received a plethora of questions concerning safe sex. In response to the overwhelming amount of questions we received, we decided to create a safe sex campaign solely created with COVID-19 in mind.
