Hampton High School Enrichment

General Information

Welcome to the Hampton High School Enrichment page. The goal of the Secondary Enrichment program at HHS is to provide students with opportunities to extend their learning beyond the curriculum and enhance the academic content that they explore in their classes. Students can participate in events planned by the Enrichment Facilitators, but students are welcome to come with projects and activities of their own design. The Enrichment Facilitators are ready and willing to support students on their path to learn about anything and everything that may interest them.

Here you will find important information and forms for upcoming enrichment opportunities. These opportunities change almost monthly, so be sure to check back often for new things! If you have any questions, please contact one of the Enrichment Facilitators: Dr. Melissa Survinski (survinski@ht-sd.org) or Mr. Scott Stickney (stickney@ht-sd.org) for help. During the school day, students can find Mr. Stickney in the J-1001. Dr. Survinski can be found in the satellite Enrichment Office, which is located in room G-719.

Use the links at the top of the page to see upcoming events for each area of study. Any seniors that would like help with college application essays should email Dr. Survinski or Mr. Stickney to set up an appointment. Any students in AP Research that need help with their research questions, literature reviews, instrument design, data analysis and reporting, or final papers/presentations can email Dr. Survinski to schedule one on one conferences throughout the year. Any students with project or research ideas are welcome to email Dr. Survinski or Mr. Stickney for help and guidance!

TCFPE Future Leaders Program

The Future Ready Leaders program gives students a voice in how they prepare for education, careers, and life after graduation.  Working with Mr. Stickney, other Hampton educators and fellow students on your team, you will build leadership skills and create opportunities for your peers, all while learning how to better prepare for the future.  During this in-person and virtual program, you will build 21st-century skills, create a future plan and grow your professional network.  You can earn Job Shadowing Hours for the parts that explore careers, businesses, colleges and training programs.  Mr. Stickney is looking for 5 to 7 students to participate.  Please see him in Room C-310 or email him to sign up.

Our Job Shadow Identifier

Look for the icon to the left on HHS Enrichment Field Trip forms.  We will now be adding this identifying mark in the upper right hand corner of our forms so you will know that this small group or class field trip will count towards your job shadowing requirement. Click the button below to access Enrichment's website.

Field Trip & Event Registration Policy

To ensure that all students have access to field trips, we will use the following sign up procedure. For events open to all students, event sign-ups will be announced on Monday and Tuesday of a given week. These will also be posted on Monday on this website. Sign-ups will take place and permission slips will be available Wednesday-Friday of the same week. If more students sign up than there are spots available, a random drawing will help determine which students may attend.

N.B. If a student's academic performance does not indicate a need for enrichment in a subject area, or if teachers raise concerns about missing classes, students will not be permitted to attend an event. Please contact Dr. Survinski with any questions.
