My research is in Algebraic Geometry, and I work on Birational Geometry of higher dimensional varieties. I am mostly interested in geometry of Fano varieties and Mori fibre spaces, including classification theory, K-stability, moduli theory and rationality questions.

Next position: LMS Early Career Fellow at Imperial College London, followed by a postdoc in Basel, then Sofia/Miami, then Saarland (Germany).

NB: I changed my surname from Ahmadinezhad in 2021. The word "Abban", which we chose as our new family name after the birth of our son, is the name of the Persian calendar month in which he was born.
