Currently, I serve as a Lecturer and Postdoctoral Fellow at the Institute of Labour Economics, Leibniz University Hannover, Germany. My current research focuses on the intersection of labour and health, applying quasi-experimental methods to observational micro-level datasets such as ELSA, EU-LFS, EU-SILC, SOEP, and others. I also leverage causal machine learning techniques to address biases and investigate causal inferences in high-dimensional data, generating insights that inform evidence-based policy and practice. In addition to advancing my research, I take pride in teaching BA and MA-level courses on labour economics, personnel economics, applied econometrics, and data analytics while supervising and mentoring students.
I have published in renowned journals, including Labour Economics, The Lancet, Economic Modelling, Journal of Evolutionary Economics, Mathematical Social Sciences, and the European Journal of Law and Economics.
I am a member of the German Alliance for Global Health Research (GLOHRA), the GBD Collaborator Network, and the Global Labor Organization (GLO). I also participate in professional groups such as the Econometric Society, European Economic Association (EEA), and Royal Economic Society, among others, fostering collaboration within the global economics community.
Additionally, I maintain strong ties with my alma maters through memberships in Antiguos Alumnos de la Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, Sharif University of Technology Association (SUTA), and the International Iranian Economic Association (IIEA).
