Hermes Lite SDR

Received the completely out of the box useable SDR radio from makerfabs designed by the Hermes-Lite 2 team. Well this feels a bit like cheating. No mistakes, no smoke, no pain no endless searching for parts. Just slide the pcb in the box, connect TCIP , antenna power and start SDR console. Wow what an experience compared to all my other building projects around.

But when I saw the chance to get myself a working reference sample of such a cool thing for 250$, I couldnt stop.

The results from day one experience are mindblowing. SNR's way beyond what I ever experienced before, incredible low noise floor, no spurs, still with my simple wire hanging out of the window I got clear, noise free reception on 20m across the atlantic and most part of europe just like that. Sound quality is so close to QO-100 I never owned a quality radio in that range so for me this device is the top mark.

It is so small 100x100mm that I will try to insert it even into the PA cabinet, as the point of operation and user interface can be comfortably done on a mobile device just with wifi connection.
