For some reason I can't get IE 11 and MS Edge browsers to play html5 videos. When I go to youtube.com/html5 or html5test.com it shows that video element is not supported (even though those browsers should support it). Try going into your settings, show the advanced options and at the very bottom there's an option to reset the browser. Do that. After that, go check out your chrome extensions and make sure there's nothing fishy installed there. Also, might want to check chrome://components (I think that's it) and disable flash to see if you've got one of those bad flash installs from a bad website if that's still a thing. It's been a long time since I had a bugged out browser. I hope this still applies.
