The Core Rising Method is a trauma-informed approach to psychosomatic healing. Somatics is the art and science of working with the "Soma", which really means the living wholeness: the body, the mind and the soul. And it just happens to be my second name too, talk about soul's purpose ;).
The Core Rising Method I'm trained in, works with emotions as a body based experience, to rewire response patterns and transform how individuals relate to themselves and their environment.
Tools we will use: body based processing, somatic tracking, IFS parts work, inner child work.
Our day to day suffering stems from deeper origins: unresolved stress responses from our earliest years, dysregulated nervous systems and emotions that have been held in the body for far too long.
These core wounds aren't just memories; our brain keeps the score our body is the score card. In The Core Rising Method, we move beyond talking to safely inhabit the body, using somatic experiences to take charge of your own perception and let your body know its environment is safe again.
Why The Core Rising and not some other approach?
Most personal development, CBT and life coaching operate from the neck up. It focuses on changing our Thoughts however, if our body is in metabolic distress no amount of thinking will help. Instead of analysing why you feel a certain way, it focuses on the body's capacity to metabolise emotions and process feelings.
The Core Rising Method stops trying to think it's way out of problems. Instead of analysing your past, it works directly with your body to:
Uncover the Root: It shifts your baseline state so you don't have to "manage" your symptoms anymore, they simply stop getting triggered because the activation gets released and the cycle gets completed through the nervous system. Allowing the system to reorganise itself naturally.
Build Capacity: Insight has told you what's going wrong and the patterns you want to change. Building capacity is about having the spaciousness in your nervous system to actually handle what is coming up and move through it.
Reduce Tension: Chronic stress teaches the nervous system to equate physical tension with preparedness. Softeness inturrupts that pattern by signalling that constant readiness is no longer necessary. Through utilising somatic practises over time, softness reappears because the nervous system has enough evidence that predictability and safety are available. Background tension then decreases because it is no longer needed to manage uncertainty.
Science Behind The Core Rising
Somatic practises activate proprioception and interoception, the senses that tell you where your body is in space and how it feels inside. Somatic practises support integration of emotional and sensory information across both brain hemispheres. These pathways connect to the insula and somatocensory cortex, regions essential for emotional awareness. The sessions I hold show your sensory system new cues of safety through gentle movement, self-touch and mindful attention. When you move with this intention, you're literally teaching your brain to sense safety again. A recent meta-analysis and systematic review exploring the effects of mind-body exercises on neuroinflammatory biomarkers (Zheng et al., 2026) offers compelling evidence for why this work matters, not just emotionally, but physiologically.
It's worth noting that research typically defines "mind-body exercises" as any intervention that targets the communication between mind and body through embodied experience, which means somatic practices fall squarely within this category.
So what did the research find? Mind body practices were shown to actively support the body's repair processes by increasing levels of the anti-inflammatory cytokine IL-10, as well as brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF), a protein that plays a key role in neural survival and neuroplasticity. Beyond promoting repair, these practices were also found to reduce pro-inflammatory cytokines, helping to interrupt the harmful immune feedback loops that chronic stress and trauma can create in the body.
As for how much practice is needed: the study found that around 50 minutes per week is enough to initiate meaningful, systemic anti-inflammatory responses. And for those wanting to support inflammation reduction even further, practising more than five times per week showed measurable reductions in C-reactive protein, a key marker of systemic inflammation.
The Core Rising Method is rooted in exactly this kind of embodied, regulated awareness and the research confirms what many of us already feel to be true:
that returning to the body is one of the most powerful things we can do for our own well being.
The Core Rising Method gives you a practitioner who understands the science, has lived the work personally, and is committed to showing up to sessions with full presence and compassion for your process.
