Hall-Dale Youth Basketball
Player and Parent Code of Conduct
The Hall-Dale Youth Basketball (HDYB) Board of Directors has implemented the following Player and Parent Code of Conduct. All Players and Parents/Guardians must read, understand, and sign this form. By signing this form, the player and parent/guardian both provide their consent that a player who violates the Code of Conduct may be subject to disciplinary action by their team’s coach, in conjunction with the HDYB Board of Directors.
If a situation develops that involves the conduct of a player or parent/guardian that poses a safety risk or is detrimental to the players and the league, the coach will make a board member aware of the situation. The Hall-Dale Youth Basketball Board of Directors will review incidents on an individual basis to determine the level of disciplinary action. Disciplinary action may include a temporary suspension from the program, or the forfeiture of the privilege to participate in the program for the season. The goal of Hall-Dale Travel Basketball is to assure that sports are a setting where personal character (including integrity, respect, responsibility, and fairness) is built, a safe environment is created, sportsmanship is upheld, and fair play is established. Players and families must agree to uphold the following:
I will accept responsibility for my behavior. I understand that what I do and say affects my teammates, Hall-Dale Youth Basketball, and other people either positively or negatively. I will always control my words and actions. Use of bad language or putting my teammate and/or opponent at risk of harm is unacceptable. I will not do anything that would endanger my opponents, teammates, coaches, officials, or myself.
I will act with respect toward myself and the people and things around me, including my parents, coaches, teammates, opponents, officials, spectators, and the facilities.
I will give 100 percent effort at practices, games, and events. I understand that my effort demonstrates my commitment to the team, and my respect for my coaches and teammates.
I will display good sportsmanship. I acknowledge and applaud the efforts of others. I encourage my teammates with positive statements. I refrain from boasting to my teammates and ‘trash-talking’ to members of my or other teams.
I will accept defeat graciously by congratulating my opponents on a game well played.
I will always serve as a role model because I represent my family, team, and community. I abide by the rules, and guidelines of the team, and coaches. I understand that it is a privilege to represent my family, team, and the Hall Dale Youth Basketball community.
I understand that there is 0 tolerance when it comes to discrimination, harassment. or bullying of others based on protected characteristics, including, but not limited to: gender, gender identity, race, color, religion, national origin, creed, citizenship status, ancestry, age, medical conditions, and mental or physical disability.
I HAVE READ, UNDERSTAND, AND AGREE TO ABIDE BY THE HALL-DALE YOUTH BASKETBALL PLAYER AND PARENT CODE OF CONDUCT AS STATED ABOVE.
