Cinematic Mod adds cinematic effects, new music (mostly consisting of several tracks from the Batman Begins trailers), new sounds, new physics effects, HD textures, custom HD models, jiggle bone effects to female characters, modified weapon strength, etc. to Half-Life 2 and its episodes. The new Alyx model, introduced in Version 5, is based on Brazilian model Adriana Lima. The more recent versions make the maps richer in terms of atmosphere, and features many new models (such as more vegetation, or many more shipwrecks along the Coast).

After the release of version 13, FakeFactory stated that this would be the last version of the cinematic mod. The limits of the Source Engine would be reached, and the development of CM13 had become a burden to him. He'd finish version 13 and say "goodbye for some time".[4]

Just made a discovery, the mod sets timescale to 0.85 up until you get the suit for some reason, I guess to make it more cinematic maybe? Anyway I dont think this can be avoided as it sets it hard capped to it (you cannot change it atall).

This footage was recorded on the Valve Index with no commentary and played in story mode, for the most cinematic experience possible. Story mode allowed our editor Jamie Feltham to move through the game as smoothly as possible, with a focus on showing as much of the world and as many details as possible to viewers.

Our perception, understanding and recording of history often tellus less about an actual event than about the mindset and perception of thesociety and era in which it was recorded. At no time have we understood thisconcept more than we do now. Nevertheless, most historical film criticscontinue either to neglect this concept or to assign it minor importance. Asa result we are developing a tendency to focus more on the messenger than onthe message itself. This paper examines the paradox of societal norms thatare justified as historicities and the controversial aspects of cinematichistoricities.

The interference of the Hay's Code in the motion pictureindustry between 1934 and 1968 exemplifies the myriad problems that arosefrom the development of censorship criteria. Susan Courtney discusses theimplications of cinematic censorship in "Picturing Race:Hollywood's Censorship of Racial Visibility Through Imitation ofLife." Her dissertation on Hollywood's involvement and influence inthe shaping of culture exposes the total confusion of the Production CodeAdministration (PCA) and its "difficulty in administering themiscegenation clause [that defined] how boundaries of racial differenceshould be cinematically constructed." In addition, censorship is forcedinto the realm of interpretation and implication that guidelines alone areincapable of defining. Ironically, the strict criteria, designed to preventpersonal interpretation by the censors, create the same narrow parametersthat are responsible for the creation of stereotypes and misconceptions. ff782bc1db
