FAQ

Registration

What forms are required for registration?

  • All Participants must have a Medical Release Form on file.

  • Participants of Majors Baseball must have documents to fulfill Little League's RESIDENCY AND SCHOOL ATTENDANCE ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS. This means they either need to:

    • 1. Attend school within our boundary and submit a School Enrollment Form with the top portion completed. This is the easiest way to prove eligibility!

    • 2. Live within our boundary and submit 3 forms of address verification as specified by Little League

Visit the Registration Forms section on our site's Registration Page to download necessary forms.

How do I know what my child's "League Age" is?

The league age of a player is the age they are considered to be throughout the season based on the cutoff dates.

League League age cutoff dates have changed from time to time, which can make knowing the league age of a player confusing to calculate.

To determine league age, look at the "Age Chart" documents in the Registration Forms section on our site's Registration Page. You can also use the League Age Calculator in the Tools section of our Registration Page.

My address is _____________________, can I play in Hagerstown Little League?

Our About Page shows a map of our league boundary. If you live within the boundary, or your child goes to a school that falls within the boundary (Nettle Creek, Western Wayne, Centerville, and Union schools currently), the child is eligible for our league. You can also verify eligibility using the Little League - League Finder page to enter your home or school's address.

Can I request that my child be place on a certain team, with another player, or with a certain coach?

  1. Siblings that are registered and/or drafted to the same division will always be placed on the same team.

  2. Players are always placed with their parent if they are coaching.

  3. Divisions other than Tee Ball go through a draft/selection process to build teams. Team/coach requests cannot be guaranteed for these divisions.

  4. For Tee Ball, we do our best to accommodate team and/or coaching requests. Due to team sizes and other factors, there are some instances where we are not able to fulfill all requests. The best way to guarantee that non-sibling players be placed on the same team is for each player to have a parent coach, and note that they wish to coach together.

I am not able to cover the cost of registration. Do you offer any financial assistance?

TMobile offers grants to families to help pay for Little League registration fees. Visit the Little League + TMobile Call Up Grant page to apply.

I've applied for a TMobile Call Up Grant to pay for my registration fees. How do I complete my order without paying?

Change the payment method to 'Check' on the checkout page and complete the order. We will apply the grant payment when your application is approved and we receive notification of its approval.

Equipment & Uniforms

What equipment does my child need? What does the league provide?

The league will provide practice balls, shared team helmets, and several shared team bats for each team. Your child is welcome to bring their own bat and/or helmet.

Each child should have their own glove. If cleats are worn, they must be rubber cleats - no metal spikes are allowed.

What kind of bat can be used?

Please see the current bat rules at Bat Rules - Little League.

For Tee Ball, the bat must have the 'USA Baseball' logo and have the text "ONLY FOR USE WITH APPROVED TEE BALLS".

For baseball, the bat must have the 'USA Baseball' logo, and listed on the USABat website.

For softball, the bat must be 33 inches or less, no more than 2-1/4 inches in diameter, and be printed with BPF 1.20

What are provided for uniforms?

The league will provide a uniform shirt, uniform socks, and (for baseball and teeball), a uniform hat. These items are included in the registration price. Players can purchase an extra pair of socks for and additional fee during registration.

Baseball/softball pants are encouraged, but not required - especially for teeball division. Pants are not provided by the league and must be purchased by parents.
