This document explains how the Haffy application (hereinafter referred to as the "App") handles your data. We respect your privacy and comply with data protection requirements under GDPR (EU) and CCPA (California, USA) standards.
The operator of the App is the owner of the Haffy project. For any questions, data deletion requests, or to exercise your rights, please contact us at: haffy.app@gmail.com.
The App offers two modes of use: In the current version, the App operates primarily on a local data processing basis.
Anonymous (Local) Mode: If you do not sign in to the App, all data about your dogs, photos, and journal entries are stored exclusively locally on your mobile device. We do not send this data to our servers.
Login and Cloud (Backup): If you choose to register and sign in (using Google Login or Apple ID), all data you enter and your progress in the App (e.g., dog profiles, journal entries, saved contacts, user settings, and uploaded photos) are securely backed up to Firebase cloud storage (provided by Google LLC). In this case, your data is stored on servers that may be located in the USA. The protection of this data is ensured by standard contractual clauses and Google's security mechanisms. We only obtain your email address and necessary authentication tokens from the login services.
AI Assistant (Haffy Chat): Your text and voice queries regarding dogs are sent to Google’s servers (Gemini API / Speech-to-Text) for the purpose of processing the response and converting speech to text. These queries are not linked to your identity. Never share sensitive personal information in the AI chat.
Camera and Microphone: The App requires access to the camera (to upload dog photos) and the microphone (for voice input in the chat). We do not store audio recordings on our servers; they are used only for a one-time conversion to text. Photos are stored either locally or in your personal cloud account within the App (if you are signed in).
Non-Sale of Data: The operator does not and will never sell your personal data to third parties.
Access to Data: You can edit or delete your data at any time directly within the App interface.
Right to Erasure: If you use the App without signing in, you can delete your data simply by uninstalling the App. If you have an account (Google/Apple) and wish to completely delete your account and all data from our cloud storage, please contact us at haffy.app@gmail.com. Your data will be permanently deleted without delay.
