Hack@Code 2025 – “AI Explorers: Code the Future with PictoBlox”

THEME: BUILDING A FUTURISTIC SINGAPORE WITH AI

Step into the future and reimagine a Singapore that is greener, smarter, and more inclusive! Hack@Code 2025 invites Primary (ages 7–12) and Secondary (ages 13–14) students to unleash their creativity and develop innovative solutions powered by Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) using the PictoBlox platform. Under this year’s theme, “Futuristic Singapore,” participants are challenged to tackle real-world issues and contribute to building a better future for our nation.

WHO CAN JOIN?

Participants will compete in the following age divisions:

• Primary Category: Ages 7 to 12 (Primary 1 to Primary 6)

• Secondary Category: Ages 13 to 14 (Secondary 1 to Secondary 2)

WHAT CAN YOU CREATE?

Participants can build interactive stories, animations, games, or hybrid projects that reflect the competition’s theme. While the suggested tracks below are provided for inspiration, students are welcome to explore their own ideas as long as they align with the overarching goal of building a Futuristic Singapore with AI.

• 🌱 Sustainable Living: Green energy, zero-waste homes, urban farming

• 🏙️ Smart Nation Solutions: AI for transport, elderly care, smart homes

• 🤖 Inclusive Innovation: Empowering the differently-abled and elderly with tech

• 📚 Future of Learning: AI tutors, immersive education, mental wellness tools

Participants are strongly encouraged to use the Machine Learning (ML) features in PictoBlox via block coding. Hardware integration is optional.

KEY DATES

• Registration Opens: 4 July, 2025

• Submission Deadline: Sat 26 September, 2025

• Final Showcase & Awards Ceremony: 2 October, 2025. Playland Fiesta@Fort Canning Park (More details will be released at a later date).

HOW TO PARTICIPATE?

Step 1: Participate as an individual or form a team of not more than 3 friends.  

Step 2: Proceed to register online as Private entities or MOE registered schools.  

Step 3: Make payment for Registration fee of $35 (for both individual or team). MOE schools registration will be e-invoiced   through Vendors@gov.  

Step 4: Watch tutorial videos to learn how to incorporate AI/ML using PictoBlox.

Step 5: Start the ball rolling!  

Step 6: Submit your entry to hackcode2050@gmail.com by 26 September 2025. Please include a project file link or QR code.

Step 7: Winners will be announced and invited to present at the final showcase and awards ceremony on 2 October 2025.
