Research: My current projects target on social protection, clean cooking, electrification, food security, labor participation, and COVID-19 pandemic. My areas of interest include, but are not limited to: 1) Poverty, Aging, Social Protection, and Forced Migration, 2) Economics of Innovation, Food, Health, and Energy, 3) Sustainability, Entrepreneurship, and Firms, and 4) Current and future issues such as AI, War, Pandemic, Drought and Flood. Approach: I am an applied economist who addresses real-world problems by leveraging my interdisciplinary background. I also apply a mixed-methods research design. I focus on impact analysis. I apply panel modeling, including random effects, fixed effects, and mixed effects models. I use a quasi-experimental design—Propensity Score Matching (PSM), Instrumental Variables (IV), and Difference in Difference (DiD). Data: My expertise is primarily in panel data. I work with freely available datasets, just to mention a few: World Bank Household Survey Panel Data ; Young Lives in Ethiopia Panel Data ; Ethiopia's Spatial Panel Data ; Forced Migration Panel Data and Afrobarometer Panel Data .
