Animal-Assisted Psychotherapy

Animal-assisted psychotherapy is the incorporation of animals as part of the treatment plan for an individual seeking help for a psychological disorder. It has been shown to be effective in a wide range of conditions, including depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder and autism spectrum disorders (Amerine and Hubbard 2016).

At HIM, you will have the chance to interact with a wide range of animals, each with their own story which may resonate with you. Our therapist will first schedule an assessment with you to understand more about the issues you are facing and the treatment goals, then work with you to customise a treatment plan to journey with you on the road to recovery.
