Head Coach
Gymnastics has always been a part of my life. I started taking classes at the age of 3 years old, and it has had it hold on me since then. Whether I've been a national level gymnast or chairman of one of the biggest clubs in Finland or now owning my own gym in Tanzania, gymnastics has always been a part of my life. The beauty of sports is that it can change and evolve into new avenues. As I packed up my grips for the last time, I entered a new role as a coach for Junior National team memebers. I thought I'd seen it all, but a perspective change from a gymnast to a coach, opened up new avenues for me. Moving to Tanzania meant saying good bye to the club that I had been part of for over 25 years. Thankfully I found my way back to the gym here in Tanzania, and I am so happy to be on this journey of building little gymasts and new coaches.
Our team is a combination of full time staff and extra coaches. Each team member is a valuable asset for us, and help us guide the gymnasts as they progess on their journey through the levels. I work continuously with all the coaches, through one-on-one instruction and workshops to improve their level of knowledge on the sport, and coaching in general.
We welcome our older students to participate in the community and sharing what they've learned as a gymnasts, as assistant coaches. They've acquired expertize over the years of training and are eager to share that with the next generation of gymnasts.
