* We understand that incoming Freshman may not have had the opportunity to get involved in clubs, etc. so please do not let that deter you from applying
Complete and submit a GYAC application with 1 non-relative reference and a short essay
Attend monthly meetings held on the 3rd Saturday of every month from 11AM-1PM
members are expected to attend every meeting
if a member has 2 unexcused absences, or 3 excused absences in a calendar year, their membership may be terminated pending Executive Board review
Attend additional special meetings that may be called throughout the year.
Attend meetings of any subcommittees that you choose to join
Participate in at least 3/4 of GYAC events and preparation sessions held outside of official meetings.
When assigned jobs by any Executive Board officer, GYAC members must follow through and complete their assignment by the set deadline
Work on designated tasks outside of meeting hours
Examples: Contact local youth coalitions, identify 3 resources in your community for youth, write 1 paragraph on a topic to present to the Governor, create a social media post for the Instagram page
Work with the Council to put together a report which summarizes the Council's activities and which details any recommendations that the Council develops
Mandatory monthly meetings are a 2 hour/month commitment, along with roughly 2 hours of work outside of monthly meetings, so the standard of commitment for GYAC is ~4 hours per month.
