The Gwendolyn Gives Perseverance Education Scholarship is awarded annually to college students currently pursuing a bachelors degree in education. To be eligible for this scholarship the student must meet the following criteria:
1. Identifies as a minority female student
2. Permanent resident of a southeastern state (South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia, or Tennessee)
3. Enrolled in a 4 year institution
4. Declared as an education major in a teacher licensure granting program
5. Intends to teach K-12 after graduation
6. Completed at least 59 credit hours at the time of award distribution
7. Have earned a GPA at or above a 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
8. Have completed the FAFSA application for the current year

Scholarship award winners are required to inform the Gwendolyn Gives Foundation in writing of the institution they will attend, their college identification number, and the office that handles scholarships applied to student accounts. This information must be communicated by July 30th, of the year of the scholarship award. Each award winner must matriculate to the college of their choice by the fall semester after their scholarship application. Scholarship winners must remain Education majors, completing a degree within a teacher licensure program, for the semester the scholarship will be applied. Scholarship winner must be permanent residents of a southeastern state, and attend college in a southeastern state (South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia, or Tennessee). Family members of board members or the founder are ineligible to apply. Failure to abide by these requirements could result in the scholarship recipient relinquishing their award, and will be determined by the board of the Gwendolyn Gives Foundation.
