Social Media Addiction Survery

After taking this survey, I realized how much time I spend on social media and how I am addicted, even though most of the time it does make me feel more down then uplifted I find it hard for myself to stop being on it so often. The results from the survey say...

You might not be 100% addicted (yet!), but you definitely need to evaluate how much time you're spending scrolling on your social media accounts. It may not be making you happy. One study by Facebook of teen Instagram users in the US and UK found more than 40% of those who reported feeling “unattractive” said the feelings started when using Instagram. It's a good time to start thinking about decluttering your digital life through a social media and digital detox!

I agree with what was said and I need to find things more productive and filling to my day instead of doomscrolling all of the time , because I do tend to feel less attractive due to comparing myself to others on social media.

Interesting Social Media Statistics/Impact

This was very interesting for me to see because I feel now days nobody really admits to social media having negative impacts because we all use it so much we usually feel very ashamed to admit how bad it is for us and how it hasn't made things any better over the years, I do think that social media has its benefits but only when used correctly because it can connect you with friends, family and lets you express yourself. There is a downside though like it shows here many believe it has a lot of misinformation and hate on it which I agree with, a lot of people post more opinionated things on social media but try to get others to perceive it as real information.

AI is another example because it is so powerful nowadays sometimes it is hard to tell what's real and what is not. I also believe that hate and harassment is a big one because since we are all sitting behind a screen, we think that it is okay to say anything and that it won't affect someone but words cut deep no matter what even if it is just a silly post or message.

Lesson learned, I have learned that social media has made a huge impact on my life whether it is negative or positive and I need to be more aware of how much I allow it to affect me.

Digital Media Exploration

In this lesson i had to collect many different types of medias and be able to credit them in the correct way, this is a way to help me get comfortable with using digital media and being able to use it correctly and easily.

This originates from a 3D animation found in the 2011 video game The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim which was developed by Bethesda Game Studios.

I found this sound called RAAAAH Skeleton which goes with my GIF I submitted, It was imported from a youtube video originally but created into a MP3 by somebody on the internet. The sound was originally just the RAAAAH sound and they added to banging on to it to match the meme.

This is a YouTube video I created two years ago as a project for one of my college classes, we were supposed to make a step by step instructed video on how to complete a specific task.

This is my video so I obviously do not mind if it is used.

Lesson Learned, I learned during this different ways to put videos, MP3, JPGS and GIFS while being able to credit the creators so others can use this information if wanted or i wont get copyrighted by the creator. I am now familiar with being able to credit people and even make my own CC's for myself.
