I grew up in a small town outside of San Antonio, Texas. My grandpa was a cattle farmer and my dad owned his own business with my mom. My family was and still is rooted into the community. Every Sunday I used to help my mom and sister teach Sunday school at the church. I have always strived to stay invested in the people around me and from a very young age knew that my commitment was God, family, and my community. That is still my belief to this day and I promise I will always strive to keep putting you, the people, before any special interest, corporation, or party.
I have always stood by the belief that Congressmen and women ought to keep their promises to their constituents. I ran on a message of bipartisanship and voting the way the people of my district would want me to vote. I have kept that commitment and promise to keep doing what I have been doing. An example of this is when I promised the citizens of DX-4 that I would fight to get marijuana decriminalized nationally, then after being in office for a few months I introduced a bipartisan piece of legislation called the "American Drug Overhaul Act" that effectively did just what I promised. I have done the same thing for just about every single other promise I made to you, the people. I am committed to standing up for all of you and keeping promises once more, if re-elected.
Ever since I was a high schooler I always dreamed of being a member of the United States Government. When I ran for student body president and won against somebody I was expected to lose to, I learned that I could one day win the support of the American People on a much larger scale. I ran on a message of change and have followed through with that same message to this day. That's one reason one of the main campaign slogans I use is "Real Conservative Change." I'm running now, for my third term, because I am not finished yet. I am not done making America a better place for everyone. America still needs a voice of reason in Congress and Texas still needs a Congressman that not only keeps his promises, but also brings the voice of the average American to the floor of the House of Representatives. I am running because I love my country and the people who live here with me.
