gunesasik.bsky.socialWelcome to my website. I am an Assistant Professor of Economics at TOBB Economics and Technology University, Turkey. I hold a Ph.D. in Economics from the London School of Economics and Political Science (2015) and an MPA in International Development from Harvard Kennedy School (2006). I am also a Research Associate at the Economic Research Forum-ERF.
My research fields are Labor Economics, Applied Microeconomics, and Development Economics. I work on a wide range of projects that involve evaluating the impact of employment, retirement, and tertiary education policies as well as domestic violence laws using large administrative and observational data. In addition to my research in labor economics, my other field of interest is to explore the drivers of long-run regional development. I teach statistics, econometrics, mathematical economics, applied microeconomics, and introduction to economics at TOBB ETU.
