Your privacy matters to us. This policy explains what GULP does and does not collect, and how your information is handled. In short: GULP is designed to be private. Your tracking data is stored on your device, GULP does not require an account, and we do not sell your data or use advertising or third party trackers.
1. INFORMATION WE COLLECT
GULP does not ask you to create an account and does not require your name, email or phone number to use the app.
Data you create in the app, such as your logged drinks, goals, streaks, settings and progress, is stored locally on your device. We do not operate servers that collect or store this personal tracking data.
2. AI FEATURES
Some optional features use artificial intelligence provided by Anthropic, the maker of Claude. These features include weekly AI insights, the drink lookup that fills in nutrition from a description, and natural language logging.
When you choose to use one of these features, GULP sends the relevant input to Anthropic to generate a response. For drink lookup and natural language logging, this is the short text you provide. For weekly insights, this is an aggregated, non identifying summary of your activity. We do not attach your name, email or any account identifier, because GULP does not collect those.
This data is processed only to provide the feature you requested and is subject to Anthropic's privacy practices. If you do not use these AI features, no data is sent.
3. PURCHASES
Subscriptions and the lifetime purchase are handled by Apple through the App Store. Apple processes your payment and manages your subscription. GULP does not see or store your payment details such as card numbers. Purchase and entitlement information is provided by Apple so the app knows whether your Pro access is active.
4. NOTIFICATIONS
If you allow notifications, GULP schedules gentle reminders locally on your device. You can turn notifications on or off at any time in the app or in your device settings.
5. WHAT WE DO NOT DO
- We do not sell or rent your personal information
- We do not use advertising networks
- We do not use third party analytics or tracking SDKs
- We do not access your Apple Health data
- We do not build advertising profiles about you
6. DATA RETENTION AND DELETION
Because your tracking data lives on your device, you are in control. You can erase all of your data at any time using Reset All Data in the app settings. Deleting the app from your device also removes the data stored by GULP on that device.
7. CHILDREN
GULP is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will address it.
8. INTERNATIONAL USERS
If you use the optional AI features, your request may be processed on servers located in the United States by Anthropic. By using these features you understand that the request is processed for that purpose.
9. YOUR RIGHTS
Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your personal information. Since GULP stores your data on your device and does not collect personal identifiers, you can exercise control directly through the app. For any questions or requests, contact us using the details below.
10. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the date at the top of this page. Continued use of GULP after an update means you accept the revised policy.
