Gina uses a critical learning framework to guide her teaching practices where approachability, discussion, and assignments are used to facilitate the development of students who can self-reflect and evaluate material through thoughtful critique. With experience in both online and face-to-face teaching formats, Gina uses innovative teaching strategies to cater to the needs of 21st century learners. She has extensive training in university-level instruction including detailed training in delivering online and hybrid instruction. She's doctoral level courses in Qualitative Methods, Quantitative Methods, Statistics, and Research Design in addition to a series of writing-intensive lab courses at the undergraduate level. Developing a passion for helping students achieve excellence, Gina worked to provide mentorship to former students via individual meetings and coffee hour-workshops while studying at Lehigh. Presently, Gina has eight dissertation student mentees through her clinical faculty position at Seton Hall University and serves as an outside dissertation committee member for two additional students. With PA Special Education and Elementary Education teaching certifications, Gina taught summer preschool courses for recently immigrated Korean students, substitute taught all grades in various PA school districts, taught after-school science programs for grades PreK-5, and taught students with autism and other IEP-defined special needs. Additionally, Gina has worked with school districts to provide data analysis and equity audits to help develop equity initiatives, and presented professional development to both teacher and administrator groups.
