General Service
Gina serves as a reviewer for several journals including Teacher's College Record, Frontiers in Education, Journal of Cases in Educational Leadership, Educational Management, Administrations, and Leadership, and Educational Administration Quarterly. She additionally reviews proposals for the American Educational Research Association (AERA) and the University Council for Educational Administrators' annual meetings and text books for SAGE. In AERA, Gina currently serves as secretary/treasurer for the Leadership for Social Justice special interest group. She is on the editorial board of Education Journal and advisory board of the International Journal of Interdisciplinary Studies in Education.
University-Focused
As an undergraduate at university, Gina served in leadership positions as Historian of the Graduate Student Senate, Founder/President of the Lehigh Fathers and Mothers Club, and Chair of the Graduate Student Diversity and Inclusion Committee. She's served on various committees and action groups including: Graduate Student Senate Constitutional Reform Committee, Faculty Committee for Student Life, Certificate for Inclusive Excellence Planning Working Group, and various hiring and awards committees. She created and managed a monthly dissertation coffee hour group to help students better conceptualize and think through their research ideas. She is a reviewer for the Journal of Cases in Educational Leadership and Education Administrator Quarterly in addition to service dissertation committee service.
Outside the university, Gina volunteered as a tutor in local schools, and continues to volunteer in community groups supporting healthy food availability and arts awareness. She is also an active member and volunteer at her church where she helps to run events designed to raise funds for local shelters and food sharing programs in addition to helping to run and teach Vacation Bible School.
