Guilford Area History
Howard County, Maryland
Welcome to our Guilford, Maryland history Website! There are many aspects to Guilford area history and this site focuses a little more on the industrial archeology that influenced the development of this unincorporated small town along the Little Patuxent River. The area "Between the Bridges" is made historic by the two National Register of Historic Places bridges: the Guilford Quarry Pratt Through Truss Bridge and the Bollman Truss Bridge as well as all of the historic sites in between.
Howard County Department of Recreation and Parks plans to designate the area Between the Bridges as the "B&O Patuxent Branch Historic Park". Browse around and get familiar with the topics and look for more information to be posted in the coming months.
