I am an economist and have spent most of my career working in Italian and international institutions. Over time, my work has covered, in reverse chronological order, international economics and policy, climate change, and urban and regional economics. I currently work at the Bank of Italy’s Consumer Protection and Financial Education Department.
My research has largely focused on Italy, particularly on the causes of its low growth and territorial disparities. My findings suggest that a significant part of these difficulties is related to government intervention in the economy, particularly through subsidies, which provide limited economic benefits but can have important electoral consequences. I have also worked on labor markets, financial markets, and economic history, and have coordinated research projects on social capital and climate change.
I am Neapolitan and a devoted supporter of SSC Napoli. Here you can find a little economic analysis inspired by this passion.
