• Question from Trustee Salinas to Deputy Superintendent Scott Patterson (2:00:45) "I wanted to ask Scott Patterson, is there a way for us to take a year to do the detailed review reorg? Do whatever we need to do to keep people's jobs?...Do we have the funding to keep the district going fo the next year?"

• Comments from Trustee Salinas (1:58:40): "I think we do definitely need to do a detailed review specifically of the list that was provided and how we got that list, because I just barely saw it. I wasn't included in any of those conversations onhow this was gonna happen. This is happening too fast. And I asked specifically, how did we get that list? And I still haven't received a response to that. Does anybody here on the dais know who put that list together?"

• Trustee Shield (1:59:26): "That list was a combination of several, uh, senior administrators and myself."

• Trustee Shield (2:23:34): "I was asked earlier this evening about who put the list together. My only hesitation was I worked with Scott Patterson, Mary Beth, Terry, uh Mary Beth, yeah. uh, Scott Patterson and my, uh, did I say Scott, Mary Beth, Terry, and Mike Fowler. My hesitation was, I have no idea who else was involved in the process."

• Question from Trustee Salinas to Superintendent Mary Beth Kastan (2:02:53): "And Mary Beth, do you support this, to do these layoffs?"

• Trustee Shield (2:28:03): "I've talked with numerous teachers that don't even have a clue what various jobs are for, what this TOSA does over there, what this program specialist does over there, who they never see. I don't, I- can only do what I can do." 

This exactly speaks to the spirit behind this project. The form and website are intended to be an opportunity for all of us to learn more about the various jobs that people do even - and especially - if we personally never see them ourselves.
