The renowned medicinal mud of Meline beach in Soline attracts a multitude of visitors from early spring to late autumn. Every day, you can see hundreds of bathers covered in a thick layer of mud.

The warmer water of the shallow sea allows the first sunbathers and swimmers to arrive in spring. It is believed that the mud and sun have a beneficial effect in the treatment of joint pain and rheumatoid diseases. This medicinal mud, officially known as peloid, flows down the nearby hill from a stream that carries the sediment. The sediment is covered by sea water which prevents contact with air, thereby creating a mud rich in iodine, sulphur and dead microorganisms.
