Ukulele Page

What Is the Uke Unit? Every year in guitar class we spend 2 weeks building our own instruments! We use a base unit, glue it together, stain or paint it, attach the gear, and then we play them for our spring concert!

How Much Does It Cost? About $40. This covers all materials needed to finish the uke.

What If I Can't Afford It? The instructional unit is optional and students will be allowed to collaborate with a friend on their uke, or will be given a fun song-writing project!

When Is the Money Due? Usually by the end of January payable on Revtrak.

When Do We Do the Learning Unit? Usually in March.

What If I Already Own a Uke? I own SIX! One is never enough. However, depending on what is available on the market, you might have the option to also build a thumb harp, or Kalimba, or other small instruments. A ukulele is usually the most cost effective for a usable instrument.
